Located in Hobart Tasmania, BC Electrical Systems was built on the values of honesty and integrity and a solid work ethic. Founded in April 2000 as a small contracting company we have continued to grow into a medium size business that employs up to 20 people with expertise and experience in many areas. Fish Hatcheries
• BC Electrical has been involved in the Aquaculture industry for the past 15yrs, providing installation and service of multiple Salmon Hatcheries. • BC Electrical can provide a complete electrical solution for all of your hatchery requirements. • We have expertise in all areas of hatchery electrical including:- o site power supply and distribution o backup power generation o power factor correction o automated lighting and feed control o waste water system wiring and o ozone generation control systems. • We also specialise in on water aquaculture design, installation and maintenance including, underwater lighting, feed and harvesting systems.
Marine
• We specialise in the installation and maintenance of all electrical, diesel-electric generation and electronic equipment onboard many types of vessel. • Our services include design and construction of new wiring through to refits and modernization of existing vessels. • We currently carry out installation and maintenance works onboard the Ronja Huon which works locally in the Huon as a wellboat.

Irrigation Pivots
• Servicing all makes, models and types of irrigators including linear, corner arm, towable and standard fixed pivot irrigators. • BC Electrical can supply and install underground power cabling, communication wiring, wireless control and monitoring of your irrigator. • For longer irrigators travelling over varying terrain we can supply and install a system that will ensure correct pressure along the length of the irrigator.
Pumping Systems
• BC Electrical provides simple installations from a single stock water pump all the way through to multi pump pressure on demand automated systems. • Our partnership with Schneider electric means quality products with ease of use. • We can provide all your pump protection needs ranging from basic pressure and flow switches to digital pressure, flow, temperature protection and overall pump station monitoring. • Our variable speed drives allow us to program pump curves to ensure they are always operating at the most efficient level and saving you money.
Dairies

BC Electrical maintains and services Huon’s hatcheries located statewide. These include:- Bridport, Millybrook, Springfield, Lonnavale, Forest Home, Whale point and Meadowbank Hatcheries. We also maintain and service Huon’s marine fleet of well boats, feed barges, net cleaners, etc.Billund Aquaculture Australia
We are a solid and committed partner, providing innovative solutions for the development of the new aquaculture. BC Electrical worked in conjunction with Billund on projects for Huon Aquaculture. These include the Lonnavale Hatchery located on the banks of the Russel River and the Whale point Hatchery located at Port Huon.Irrigation Tasmania
Irrigation Tasmania has the capability to custom design irrigation systems to meet individual requirements. BC Electrical have continually worked in conjunction with Irrigation Tasmania on many projects located around the state. These include the Dungove Farm (Stages 1, 2 & 3) located in Bothwell, Wesleydale Irrigation project located in Mole Creek and many more.
Compass Agribusiness Management
Our goal at Compass is to be leaders in sustainable agriculture. Our managed farms in Tasmania consist of several farms in the Tasmanian region. A Grade Electrician/Instrument Technician.
We are looking for a self-motivated candidate with extensive experience in instrumentation
and PLC programming. This role includes the installation of electrical equipment, sensors,
VSD’s, PLC control, fault finding, diagnostics and commissioning in relation to the operation
and maintenance of fish hatcheries, marine and irrigation supply systems.
Relevant Trade Certificates required. Vehicle, uniform and a negotiated rate of pay, will be
provided to the right applicant.
Test & Tag Technician
This position requires the following:-
•
Electrical Experience required to repair minor faults found.
•
Demonstrate competency in performing the requirements of AS/NZS 3760.
•
Proficient with using Patguard Testers or equivalent (Preferred but not essential).
•
Current Drivers Licence (Manual).
•
Ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team.
•
Position would also suit mature age applicants.
Relevant Trade Certificates required. Vehicle, uniform and a negotiated rate of pay, will be
